There are four bedrooms on the first floor

For your comfort and peace and quiet the windows are double- glazed. The parquet floors, marble fireplaces and moulded ceilings are typical of the 19th century. We think we have succeeded in our aim of restoring these rooms without losing their period charm.

For a young woman to become a sculptor in the late 19th century was unthinkable, scandalous even! Camille meets Auguste Rodin, becomes his pupil and his mistress. This passionate love affair is to lead her into the abyss. She leaves an important body of work of rare power, originality and vision. This is a spacious room in soothing tones of pale yellow and grey.

A french window opens onto the balcony. There are two single beds, WC and modern-style bathroom.

The LIANE DE POUGY Room

Liane was an exceptional woman as she shows throughout her whole life. Many were the famous men and women who courted her. Queen of the demi-monde, she embarks upon the writing of novels and remarkable memoirs and becomes the Princess Georges Ghika through mariage. On the death of her husband she becomes a lay-member of the Order of St Dominique.
This celebrated courtesan would have loved the romantic ambiance of our spacious bedroom, with its pink Toile de Jouy wallpaper.

The "grande demoiselle" gave women of her time that elegant simplicity which is still so appreciated today.
